Loch Lomond has spilled over, two months ahead of last year. Santa Cruz Water supply for the year is now secure. How much water can be transferred to SqCWD through the existing intertie which was opened December 3, 2018?
Water for Santa Cruz County estimates over 500 million gallons!
This estimate can be made with some confidence, because 2018 rainfall was very low and still Santa Cruz ended the year with a 500 million gallon surplus over plan. 2018 was a very dry year. Even so, over 500 million gallons could have been supplied to Soquel Creek Water District by Santa Cruz by surplus water.
