On June 22nd,  Santa Cruz city published a document on the WSAC website called “Portfolio Update, June 22, 2015”.  This document contained detailed tables for the various portfolios being considered by WSAC in its modeling.

Table 2a, on page 5 of that report listed the significant costs for this alternative:
b.Pipeline 2, from Felton Diversion to Loch Lomond…………$25,940,000.
e. Intertie No. 1 Pipeline ( City to Scotts Valley)………………$4,260,000
f.  Pump station (City to Scotts Valley)……………………..….$1,580,000

Plus, items not listed:
1.  Acquire Hansen Quarry………………………………………$3,250,000
2.  Build Hansen water treatment plant ( 2 Mgal/day)………..$3,000,000

This 2nd pipeline project would provide Santa Cruz with 500 to 900 Million gallons of additional water per year.

This water can be stored, untreated in the Loch Lomond.  This extra water supply can be used during the summer or treated at Hansen Quarry and stored in the Santa Margarita aquifer in the ground below Hansen Quarry.
